Our vacation rentals are close enough to tourist ‘meccas’ so as to enjoy all the benefits these areas have to offer, yet far enough ‘off the beaten track’ where our guests have the opportunity to enjoy and experience the real Catalonia/Spain.
Our mission is to offer guests an original un-hotel experience which includes hand-picked traditional tourist routes (private in-villa catering services, local attraction discounts, hiking/biking/hidden treasure tours, wine/cava/chocolate/tapas/paella tastings), all with experienced, local, and bilingual personnel who love their jobs! As we are unbiased in our opinions, we make it our duty to ensure that you choose the perfect villa for your vacation and are always happy to advise on any detail of location or property preference. We have strict maintenance and quality standards, and are registered with the regional property agents association (API 6002) so you can be assured of a reliable, trustworthy, and dedicated service.
Each villa is hand picked and thoroughly inspected for comfort, cleanliness, and vacation suitability. Our villas are spacious, original, and family friendly – and all within an hour’s drive to major tourist destinations. We cater to both large and small families, offering every type of property from huge ‘masias’ for family reunions to small beachside apartments.
We stand out in the sector by ensuring that each of our villas has a house manual with house operating instructions, local restaurants and services, maps, directions, and tips and tricks direct from the owner. Above and beyond, and our true ‘niche’ is offering personalised experiences (from flamenco shows to catered meals in the comfort of your own ‘home’) and expert advice on your area.
To ensure that you don’t have to lift a finger or worry about your home away from home, our trustworthy cleaning staff is thoroughly trained to ensure your stay is on par with a hotel experience. We have bi-weekly pool maintenance checks (PH and chlorine levels are constantly monitored in the swimming pools so as to ensure that they remain at clean, safe and optimum operating levels) and 24-hour emergency maintenance/repair service. If you have a blocked pipe at 3 a.m., we will be there at 3:20 a.m. to repair it. Further, each of our villas is assigned a dedicated ‘Quality Controller’ who inspects cleaning, maintenance and the overall ‘perfectness’ of the property just before your stay.

Catalunya Casas was created by Janet Dawn Buckler, a dual Canadian/British citizen who has been living in Catalonia since 2005 with her Catalan husband and daughter. Ms. Buckler has worked internationally in various aspects of the tourism industry for the past 20 years and has brought her experience and expertise to the vacation rental sector of Barcelona.
